Comments
Tiramisu is one of the most well-known and appreciated desserts in the world.
It belongs to the category of “layer” desserts; the originality of tiramisu recipe is to be found in the mixture of ingredients: coffee, mascarpone and lady fingers biscuits.

Nutritional and cultural curiosities
Its origins date back to the Middle Ages: tiramisu is inspired by a trifle, but the typical Italian tradition consists in using zabaglione (replaced by the egg yolk) together with whipped cream and dry biscuits. The authorship of the dessert is disputed by Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Useful tips
It is recommended to replace mascarpone with ricotta for a lighter version.
