"Pizzaiola" meat

Utensils
meat tenderizer
pan
ladle
kitchen knife

Ingredients
4 beef steaks (cut colarda, cost or walnut)
500 g of peeled tomatoes
6 spoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
oregano
salt and pepper

Preparation
• Use a tenderizer to pound the slices.
• In a pot large enough, heat 3 spoons of olive oil, put the steaks to cook on a high flame for a few minutes and turn them repeatedly.
• Cover with a lid, lower the heat and cook for a few minutes.
• Drain them, put them on a hot dish, put salt on them and pepper and keep warm.
• Add the remaining oil to the cooking of the meat, add the garlic, add the tomatoes, oregano, salt and cook.
• After 10 minutes, put the steaks in the pan, season them, making sure that you do not harden too much, remove the garlic and serve.

Presentation
Sprinkle with oregano and serve with a side dish of vegetables.

Kids partecipation
You can ask children to give you the bunch of oregano and salt. They will be happy in doing so little.

Comments
It is a second course spread throughout Italy, but has its origins in the Neapolitan cuisine. It is easy to cook and good for children to eat.

Neapolitan cuisine is famous throughout the world for its pizza, but it is very complex and rich.
The term pizzaiola refers to the word pizza, in fact, the marinara pizza with tomato sauce and meat have in common the three basic ingredients: tomato, garlic and oregano.

Useful tips
Be careful not to overcook the meat.
Add black olives, capers and oregano to give the slices a Mediterranean flavour even more.
